Multimodal Chromatography

Multimodal Chromatography

In the downstream separation and purification process of biopharmaceuticals, chromatography is one of the indispensable separation methods. BioLink provides customers with 5 different chromatography solutions, including gel filtration chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, affinity chromatography, hydrophobic chromatography and multimodal chromatography. In addition, BioLink also produces chromatography columns and prepacked columns from laboratory to industrial grade. We focus on providing customers with high-quality products, professional solutions and comprehensive after-sales services.

FAQs of Multimodal Chromatography

Q Which samples can be separated and purified by multimodal chromatography resins?

A

Multimodal chromatography combines the high resolution of ion exchange with the high salt tolerance of hydrophobic chromatography. This allows the chromatography process to be loaded under high-salt conditions, resulting in a higher operating space, which is very suitable for the purification of complex samples.

FAQ

Q How to select the appropriate chromatography resin for my own process?

A

Attention should be paid to the hydrophobicity of the target product when screening multimodal chromatography media. For target products with high hydrophobicity, it may be difficult to elute. When the target product has high hydrophobicity, the dual effects of ionic force and hydrophobic force make the target product bind to the filler more firmly and it is difficult to elute. If high salt is used for elution, the hydrophobicity of the packing material will dominate and the yield will be lower. Therefore, for target products with strong hydrophobicity, fillers with lower ligand density should be selected, or arginine should be added during chromatography to weaken the hydrophobic force. For target products with moderate hydrophobicity, a series of gradient experiments can be used for filler screening and process development.

FAQ

Q How many chromatography resin can BioLink produce per year?

A

BioLink's chromatography medium production base is located in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, covering a total area of over 7,000 square meters. With a total investment of more than 100 million yuan and nearly 100 employees, the factory is responsible for the R&D and manufacturing of purification and cell culture products such as chromatography packing materials and microcarriers. Up to now, the base has a 500L and 1000L chromatography packing production line, and a well-equipped quality testing laboratory (which has passed the ISO9001:2015 quality management system certification). The planned total capacity of the plant is 80,000 liters/year.
