MaXtar® Blue is an affinity chromatography medium made by covalently linking Cibacron Blue to a highly cross-linked agarose matrix by a triazine coupling method. The blue dye Cibacron Blue can bind to various proteins, such as albumin, lipoprotein, interferon, coagulation factors; it can also bind to various enzymes, such as kinases, dehydrogenases and most enzymes that require adenosine-containing cofactors (such as NAD+). MaXtar® Blue is mainly used in the separation and purification of albumin, interferon, various nucleotide-dependent enzymes, α2-macroglobulin, coagulation factors and related proteins.
