MaXtar® Heparin is an affinity chromatography medium made by covalently coupling heparin to an agarose matrix. Heparin is a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan that has affinity with a variety of biomolecules and can also be used as an ion-exchange ligand. This chromatographic medium can be used to separate and purify coagulation factors, antithrombin III, growth factors, interferon, lipoprotein lipase, nucleic acid and steroid receptor enzymes, etc.
